Susie is an experienced ecologist, with 14 years at WFE. As WFE’s bat survey lead, she primarily undertakes work for barn conversions and building projects with bat mitigation European Protected Species (EPS) Licences. Susie holds a Bat Mitigation Class Licence (BMCL). She is also on the committee of Norfolk and Norwich Bat Group and assists with mist netting and harp trapping research projects in her spare time.
Susie is competent in a variety of other protected species surveys. She is a great crested newt licence holder, and has worked on great crested newt and badger mitigation licences. Susie has botanical expertise and has undertaken habitat surveys and NVC surveys on a variety of sites throughout the UK. Susie also carries out avian vantage point surveys and post-construction monitoring for renewable energy developments.
Susie is proficient in GIS mapping, project management, data handling and report writing, including production of Ecological Impact Assessments and Environmental Statement chapters. Susie also holds an ABC Level 2 certificate in arboriculture and assists with tree surveys.
